Sizing Information

The following information can help you pick the correct size for your bangles, bracelets, rings and necklaces.

Bangle Sizing

Bangles generally come in Small, Medium or Large.

Custom sizing is available, here's how you can measure your hand to see which size is best for you.

To find your bangle size, you will need a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler. Follow these steps:

  1. Wrap the measuring tape or string around the widest part of your hand, just below your knuckles. Make sure the tape is snug, but not too tight.

  2. Alternatively, you can use a piece of string and mark the point where the two ends meet.

  3. If you are using a string, lay it flat on a ruler and measure the length from the end to the mark. This will give you the circumference of your hand.

  4. Let me know the circumference of your hand.

    Bracelet Sizing

To find your bracelet size, you will need a flexible measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler. Follow these steps:

    1. Wrap the measuring tape or string around your wrist, just above the wrist bone. Make sure the tape is snug, but not too tight. Alternatively, you can use a piece of string and mark the point where the two ends meet.

    2. If you are using a string, lay it flat on a ruler and measure the length from the end to the mark. This will give you the circumference of your wrist.

    3. Let me know at checkout what size your wrist is and I'll be able to adjust to your size. If in doubt, go larger rather than smaller for a more comfortable fit.

    4. Alternatively, you can measure the length of a bracelet that fits you well and let me know the total length of your existing bracelet.

      Ring Sizing

Finding your ring size can be done several ways.

Sometimes it can be difficult to get right so here are some tips for getting an accurate measurement:

      • Make sure your finger is at a normal body temperature, as fingers can shrink or expand due to temperature changes.
      • Measure your finger at the end of the day, when it is likely to be at its largest.
      • If you are between sizes, it is usually best to choose the larger size.

      Measuring at home:

      1. Measure the diameter of the inside (ID) of a ring that fits you well using a millimeter ruler.
      2. Use a ring size chart to convert the measurement to a ring size. You can find a ring size chart online or at a jewellery store.
      3. Alternatively, you can measure the circumference of your finger using a strip of paper or a piece of string. Mark the spot where the two ends meet, then measure the length with a millimeter ruler.

Getting your finger measured at a Jewellery Store:

You can go to a jewellery store and ask for your finger size to be measured. Ask for the measurement to be in the NZ/UK/Aus standard letter sizing eg. N, O, P, Q, R etc

      Necklace Length

Necklace length is determined by where you want your necklace to hang. The majority of Pretty Birds necklaces are on a 50cm chain that is adjustable to 45cm and 40cm if you prefer to wear them higher.

This diagram depicts where each necklace length will typically sit. This varies depending on your body shape.
